Within walking distance of the main street of Wentworth, Fotherby Park is a great place to stop and take a break from driving. As you enter the park passing under the lift span bridge entrance, you will see the Fergie tractor sitting on top of a pole. A reminder of the importance these little machines played in saving the Port of Wentworth from flooding, by building a levy bank right around the town.

There are public toilets, well kept eating areas, a children's play area and a display of historic machinery.

Fotherby Park has the historical paddle boat 'Ruby'. Along with other large historical items on display including a statue of 'The Possum' a local recluse. It has BBQ facilities.

The biggest surprise is the Paddle Steamer Ruby. Built in 1907 she is the longest operational passenger carrying paddle steamer operating on the Murray Darling Rivers. The restored riverboat is open to the public and you can take a tour on board to discover what it was like for the early travelers when the river was the only easy way to get into and out of the Australian Outback.
